WHY SILANE

Why Silane
Silane is a German product that helps protect floors. It works by going into the concrete at a very small level and becoming part of it. This is different from other types of floor coatings, like epoxy and polyurethane, which just sit on top of the concrete and can peel off. Silane lasts a long time and never needs to be replaced, which makes it a good value. It also makes the floor very strong and resistant to damage, and easy to fix if it does get damaged. Silane is also safe, with low fire risk and good resistance to chemicals.
SILANE PROCESS
To properly prepare a concrete floor for resurfacing, start by thoroughly evaluating the floor and removing any metal studs that are protruding from it. Next, locate and burn off any oil patches on the floor, as this is the most effective way to remove them. Avoid using degreasers, as they can cause issues later on. Proceed by grinding the floor with diamond teeth in a three-step process: coarse, medium, and smooth. Finish by applying resin polish to create a clean, smooth surface that resembles a polished concrete floor. Fill in any voids and cracks, vacuum the floor, and apply two coats of Silane, allowing each to cure overnight. Inspect the floor and burnish it if necessary.

Benefits
Silane is an ideal solution for concrete flooring as it deeply penetrates the surface to create a strong, durable film that is resistant to peeling, flaking, and chipping. This film is also easy to repair if needed. Additionally, Silane is non-flammable, non-combustible, has low slip characteristics, and can withstand a wide range of chemicals and moisture. Its clear benefits have already led one major trucking company to standardize on Silane for all of their workshop floors, and we are in talks with several other companies to do the same.
