We were called to come see if we could help repair some work that was done to a truck wash bay. Because we have a good relationship with this company having already done several of their workshops we were more than willing to help.

I am not sure what the original product was because obviously the first contractor had run away. It was either the incorrect product or incorrectly applied (or both). Also the floor had what my friend calls the Audi workshop appearance – the floor has these big interlocking circles from using the incorrect grinding machine.

Unfortunately the only way to properly sort the problem out was to redo the whole job to proper specifications.

 So we ground the whole floor again, using big 3 phase machines this time with planetary heads to get a level surface. We then washed the entire floor and had to wait for it to dry properly.

 The floor was then skimmed to fill in any cracks and voids and get a really smooth surface.

 And finally we sealed it with what is my favorite product – Silane. What makes Silane so good is that it bonds into the concrete at a nano level using the latest technology. This means it can never delaminate or peel off. Have a look at the photo showing how the other product just peels off.  I dropped round to the site today, about 2 months afterward and the floor is rock solid.

 Guess it proves the old adage “Goed koop is duur koop”
